Prospective Undergraduate Students

Any undergraduate that joins my research will be given full training at every step. Therefore, I welcome students at all experience levels. I only ask that students be excited about science and learning new skills, have a good work ethic, be detail-oriented, and work well independently and with a team. Outstanding undergraduates have gone on to present at regional and national conferences.

If you are a full-time student at the University of Kentucky searching for independent research credits (e.g. BIO395, BIO398, ABT395, or Honors), please send an email with the following information:

In one paragraph and in full sentences, please describe:

1) What are your scientific interests?

2) Why are you interested in working in our research lab?

3) What skills do you have that may be useful in a research setting?

4) What course (e.g. BIO398, BIO395H, etc) would you like to complete in our lab and which semester?

5) Can you commit at least 6 hr/week, and what is your availability?

If you are not a student from the University of Kentucky, I do not have any paid research positions. However, if you are interested in volunteering for research experience, please send an email with the following information:
